17/04/2024|Psalm 14 – There is a God

The theme of Psalm 14 is very clear. There is a God. It is foolish to suggest otherwise. I have been told it is harder to prove there is no God than it is to prove there is a God. Not only there is a God, God is watching over us.

Do not be a fool. Psalm 14 opens by calling “fools” those who deny God. A life without acknowledging God and his laws is a flawed life. Do not be pressured to join the “majority”.

Acknowledge God. The psalmist lamented the corruption. the evil, and lawlessness in the world. It shows the need for God’s judgement and justice. We are told not to be discouraged by evil.

Seek God. The psalmist told us that God is looking for those who “seek the Lord”. These are the people who actively, deliberately, and obediently pursuing the right relationship with God and to live according to his principles. They do not let evil shake their faith.
